Red Dead Redemption 2, the sequel to the previous Red Dead Redemption, had become one of the popular games since its release as ranked to be among top 5 as per sales. At the latest news, Red Dead Online, the multiplayer part of Red Dead Redemption 2, has announced to be available as a standalone version from 1st December, 2020. Along with such, Rockstar has also announced that the game and other gaming titles of the developer would be available on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S as backward compatible.

As a standalone version, Red Dead Online would be available for only $5 (around ₹370), as an introductory price till February 15, 2021, on PlayStation Store and the whole game - Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on Autumn Sale discount of 33% for PC, with a price tag of ₹2143, offer till 1 December, 2020 on Steam.
To avail a better deal of the game, Amazon sale offers Red Dead Redemption 2 PC (No CD/DVD) Code in a Box at only ₹1950.
Also, the Red Dead Redemption - 2 (PS4) version is available at ₹2074.
Rockstar's plan to further accomplish rendering an exceptional gaming experience as GTA Online, Red Dead Online standalone looks forward to a better player base in completing the bounties and other free roams with friends. In recent months, the lobbies of the game has mysteriously been empty with aound 7 players instead of 30 players to play with. The developer had addressed to major issues in their latest release of patch notes along with other DLC contents. As per a statement of a player to Polygon,
I feel like [people are] gonna get tired of these dead sessions once they see all the encounters and have all the animals,..
With the standalone announcement, the developer Rockstar has also put light on some upcoming Bounty Hunters role expansion. As said in a news release,
Bounty Hunters across Red Dead Online will have an influx of fugitives to deal with, as the Bounty Hunter Role is enhanced with new criminals to track down and Prestigious level equipment and skills to unlock across 10 more Bounty Hunter ranks. There will also be new Legendary Bounties and a 100 Rank Outlaw Pass.
Further iterating on the game size, the new standalone version of Red Dead Online would require upto 123 GB of storage which is highly demanding for a multiplayer component.
