Basim in Mirage
30 July, 2023 : By Ajoy Maitra

Never being late in the Assassin’s Creed series launch, the developer Ubisoft has yet again successfully attained the attention of all the gamers with their latest upcoming title Mirage.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be set in the 9th century Baghdad at the times when it is the centre of world’s trade route. Within the Islamic Golden Era, Mirage will be set between 860 and 870 BCE which is way before the Altair was born.

Bringing back the nostalgic moments of Assassin’s Creed I, Mirage will showcase interesting features which were almost lost within the series.

In this upcoming release, Ubisoft Bordeaux will be focusing more on the story and gameplay to leave a deep impressing among the gamers. The overall story will extend to a maximum of 24 hours, as confirmed from the way it was portrayed by the developers of Assassin's Creed Mirage, Stephane Boudon, Sarah Beaulieu and Jean-Luc Sala.

In terms of playtime, we are closer to the first AC games. About the Isu elements, we definitely have some surprises in store!

Developer has redefined the stealth and action of Mirage in a way to bring back the old memories of parkour with exclusive features like rope elevators. Using the environment to your advantage, gamers will have multiple ways of enemy takedowns.

Most interesting among the stealth takedowns will be the ability to slowdown time while using focus to make chain attacks.

With this upcoming release, Ubisoft plans to establish the moments of Prince of Persia. Along with hidden blades, it will offer swords from the Prince of Persia and also special DLCs of the Dark Prince outfit.

Story of The Hidden Ones

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will let gamers experience the origin of Basim Ibn Ishaq as he is welcomed by his mentor Roshan.

Basim gets trained as an assassin to serve the Hidden Ones, which were previously established at the time of Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The Hidden Ones work as a brotherhood in an unwavering commitment to protect liberty and free will of people from the tyrannies.

The Alamut castle has been one of the prominent locations of Assassin’s Creed and Mirage will be the first in the series to feature it.

Alamut served as a capital of the Levantine Brotherhood of Assassins also known as the Order of Assassins. It was founded by Hassan-i Sabbah and existed between 1090 and 1275 CE after which it was destroyed by the Mongol Empire.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will allow gamers to experience Alamut while it is in the construction phase.

Alamut is built on top of the Isu Temple which has the memory seals used to record messages, based on which the Animus device has later been created. Altair Ibn-La'Ahad, the mentor of the Levantine Brotherhood, made five of such memory seals as the key to his library in Masyaf.

It has not yet been revealed whether gamers will be allowed to experience the secrets of the castle or not. However, by the terms set it is evident that Mirage will reveal more secrets of the Isu Temple.
