Graphics Card Performance Leap And Availability
31 August, 2021: By Ajoy Maitra

Gaming has become a part of every young generation, besides the already existing gamers. In the latest era, online streaming and enjoying multiplayers with a squad of gamers has excited the interest of most gamers.

Graphics cards have improved in delivering superior performance as the games has now-a-days become more demanding. Even a 2 GB VRAM is too less for the current generation of gaming and looking forward to five or ten years ahead, the minimum graphical memory requirement is expected to be 4 GB or more.

However, at recent times, since the beginning of 2021, GPU availability has been massively hit as prices continued to reach sky high in breaking the resistance level. Increased usage of GPUs for cryptomining had hyped the market with demand amid the stringent supply due to the Covid pandemic.

INTEL ARC Graphics Card To Deliver Better Performance

INTEL ARC Graphics Card To Deliver Better Performance

Intel has been working on a graphics card update since few years, ensuring an entry into the discrete graphics market ruled mostly by NVIDIA and AMD. For years, Intel has been mastering on delivering CPU performance with integrated graphics. However, with the latest tease of INTEL ARC graphics to be coming soon on Q1 2022, even more hyped the market for gamers urging an immense performance leap.

Codenamed Alchemist, the INTEL ARC will be featured in a 6nm TSMC FinFET (N6) process, similar to the manufactures of AMD RX 6000 series which was on a 7nm N7 node.

Intel's first high end GPU generation based on the Xe-HPG architecture, commonly to be known as Alchemist, would be further followed up by other codenames - Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid.

A new discrete graphics micro-architecture is designed to scale to enthusiast-class performance for gaming and creation workloads.

As stated in an article by Raja Koduri, Senior vice president and General manager of Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group.

At present, addressing to the prevailing GPU shortage issues over the market, Intel's decision to step forward to become a third competitor may prove fruitful. Gaming enthusiasts are more excited with the new launches of GPUs as in of the latest RX 6000 series of AMD or RTX 3000 series' super versions on the leak.

However, such has also demoralised the budget gamers due to the unavailability of cards within the range of $200 - $350. Intel with it's latest announcements are boosting it's marketing approach, leaving a deep follow-up impression for the upcoming releases.

GPU Market Availability for Gaming Enthusiasts

Amid the pandemic and the abnormal upsurge of GPU prices due to the presence of scalpers or the increased usage in crypto mining, the market is still not at its normal.

Following up on the current market scenarios for crytocurrencies, Ethereum is at $3,237.43 with a 24-hours rise of 2.41%. Expected within the range of around $3250 - $3300 (weekly) or at a possible 29.97% growth in a month, Ethereum is still validating its worthiness with an expected growth of around 654.05% (1 Year).

Stepping forth onto analysing another trending asset, Bitcoin, it has a present market value of $46,976.33 with an expected growth of 302.44% (1 Year).

Such usage of GPUs for crypto mining is not a valid judgement as those are made specially for gamers. Addressing to such, NVIDIA has announced a latest LHR (Lite Hash Rate) cards for it's RTX versions, enabling more availability for gaming only, providing a harder time for miners.

A Hash Rate is a unit of measurement of the processing power to make intensive mathematical calculations for security. A higher hash rate card enables the miners to scalp out rewards for the transactions confirmed thereby increasing security along with the newly created cypto-coins.

Reduced hash rate for the upcoming newly manufactured cards with the LHR identifier, will ensure more trust of gamers and a gradual decline in the market prices.
