As Generative AI has taken over the internet to a new leap of modern technology, social applications like Snapchat, LinkedIn, Spotify and many others are getting more advanced.

People are more active on social platforms and such demands a new innovative path to leverage technology. Today we will check out some these social platforms which has integrated Generative AI to enhance their user experience.

LINKEDIN

LinkedIn is one of the most commonly used professional social platform. It allows posting new creative ideas & connect employers, employees with new opportunities.

At the latest, LinkedIn is testing its Generative AI to help create a full-fledged post using just a part of your own thoughts including 30 words.

Using the initial manual post, the AI will draft a post and allow users to edit them before finalizing it and sharing publicly. This feature reduces the time of creating long posts. According to Keren Baruch, Director of Product, LinkedIn,

When it comes to posting on LinkedIn, we’ve heard that you generally know what you want to say, but going from a great idea to a full-fledged post and time consuming. So, we’re starting to test a way for members to use generative AI directly within the LinkedIn share box.

Meta is investing in tons to develop a robust AI system. It is expected to have capital expenditures of around $30 to $33 billion or almost double its investment in 2020.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg focusses on reaching incredible breakthroughs in Generative AI projects. Generative AI in various Meta platforms like Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp allows creators to post innovative contents in less time.

Mark Zuckerberg stated in an interview by CNBC,

We’re going to play an important and unique role in the industry in bringing these capabilities to billions of people in new ways that other people aren’t going to do.

As already Instagram offers wide range of AI filters to modify and enhance the images, however a new feature will be launched with which a photo can be modified via text prompts as input. Another feature will have emoji stickers for messaging.

Integrating Generative AI in Messenger and WhatsApp, Meta plans to bring new tools to further enhance the user experience. AI agents with different personalities will help users.

Messenger will have AI generated stickers and Meta is leveraging its image generation model to enable a new experience of creating stickers based on text prompts. Meta’s VP of AI, Ahmad Al-Dahle stated,

With AI generated stickers, our users can have infinitely more options for self-expression, cultural representations and even trend relevance. Of course, stickers are just the tip of the iceberg.

Aside enhancing the user experiences, Meta has also announced a productivity assistant for their employees known as Metamate which will resolve any queries or perform tasks for the employees.


SNAPCHAT

Snapchat has launched a new AI feature called My AI Snaps that uses Generative AI for an interactive conversation.

My AI Snaps is a chatbot and has the ability to answer wide range of questions of users. It is powered by the OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology which has been enhanced with better security and unique controls.

My AI has the capability to detect images and can recommend based on the items shown. Snapchat stores the data and all conversations or activities of My AI to further enhance and train its AI model. However, users also have the option to delete the data so that those are not stored.

My AI Snap offers its exclusive services only to the Snapchat Plus subscribers.


TIKTOK

Like all other social platforms, TikTok is also experimenting on implementing Generative AI features to their users.

Imagined by AI is one of the most commonly used feature where users input text prompts which gets imagined with images, by AI. TikTok is currently working on a feature of allowing users to create AI generated profile avatars.

Utilising around 5 to ten photos, the tool will imagine and generate an avatar for you. TikTok has mentioned this as an experiment and is available only to some regions. According to the TikTok spokesperson,

We’re always thinking about new ways to add value to the community and enrich the TikTok experience, as we continue to build a safe place that entertains, inspires creativity, and drives culture.

SPOTIFY

Spotify debuts its Generative AI based DJ tool, personalized as per user’s taste. Delivering the right choice of music to their users, Spotify analyses the user’s likings and provides a personalized guide to play the right song at the right moment.

With its OpenAI’s Generative AI technology the user’s search queries are processed to create a recommended playlist.

The DJ button refreshes the list in case the primary recommendations are not satisfactory for the user.

On acquiring the Dynamic AI Voice platform, Sonantic, Spotify further brings text-to-speech capabilities in their platform. AI DJ is the first tool powered by the Sonantic’s Dynamic AI Voice, that offers organized playlist with a side of commentary.
