The need for high speed internet facility is much more than just a necessity of the current generation. World without a good WiFi is hard to live on and digitalization of services has further created the urgency for a good network solution.

WiFi currently operates on two bands 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz which roughly uses 400 MHz of spectrum. The introduction of WiFi 6E would induce much faster internet connectivity free from the congestions.

The WiFi band 6 Ghz would be using 1200 MHz spectrum by adding 14 more 80 MHz and 7 additional 160 MHz channels for high bandwidth applicaions requiring much faster data transfer. The maximum speed offered would be same as of the 5 GHz band WiFi which is 9.6 Gbps and also would depend on the home internet service providers. However the spedd would increase considerably due to the larger spectrum than the current ones.

Wi-Fi is expected to contribute nearly $5 trillion USD to the global economy by 2025, and countries making the full band available for Wi-Fi will see greater socio-economic benefits.

DELICENSING WiFi BAND 6 GHz

WiFi band 6 GHz being one of the fastest bands, delicensing would enhance it's usage through “free to use” by anyone, and the users need not pay any fees or obtain a license (right to use) from the government. Licensed bands has “right to exclusive use” and are allocated through auctions.

Delicensing would affect the revenues of the government, however such would further enhance the potential of unlicensed spectrum in AR, AI or Metaverse. Rather than confining the power of AR or metaverse in indoors, outdoor wireless communications between the devices are required to transform it into a mobile technology for daily lives.

There remains an agreement to delicense some portion of the spectrum.
